Style #1.1
Description: A hardwood pew either upholstered on the seat portion only, or not at all.
Key things to look for: Underside of seat is made of solid wood; Seat is only about 3" thick when upholstered
Style #1.2
Description: A pew that is upholstered on the seat portion only, but does not have a hardwood seat.
Key things to look for: Underside of seat is made of plywood.
Seat may have small upholstered boards on ends that are nailed on.
Pew seat has a frame on the underside.
Pew came from the factory upholstered.
Style #2.1
Description: A hardwood pew that is upholstered on the seat portion and the inside back (the one you rest on while seated).
Key things to look for: Underside of seat is made of solid wood; Seat is only about 3" thick when upholstered
Style #2.2
Description: A pew that is upholstered on the seat portion and inside back, but does not have a hardwood seat.
Key things to look for: Underside of seat is made of plywood.
Seat may have small upholstered boards on ends that are nailed on.
Pew seat has a frame on the underside.
Style #3.1
Description: These pews are upholstered on the seat, inside back and outside back. They are manufactured by Sauder Mfg.
Key things to look for: Underside of seat is coated with a paper product
The arm of the pew will cover the entire end of the seat.
Pew has an oblong hole for anchoring on the inside portion of each outside leg.
Seat has a 1/4" piece of masonite at the rear that you can feel through the material where the seat touches the back.
Style #3.2
Description: These pews are upholstered on the seat, inside back and outside back. They are manufactured by Marshall Fixture Company.
Key things to look for: Pew seat has round dowel spacers where it connects to the backrest, for garbage to fall through.
Top rail is about 5" tall.
Style #3.3
Description: These pews are upholstered on the seat, inside back and outside back. They are manufactured by Marshall Fixture Company.
Key things to look for: Pew seat connects directly to the backrest, NO SPACERS.
Other than that they a almost identical to style#3.2.
Style #3.4
Description: These pews are upholstered on the seat, inside back and outside back. They are manufactured by Marshall Fixture Company.
Key things to look for: Pew seat connects directly to the backrest, NO SPACERS.
Seat has a framework on the underside of seat made from 2"x2"s.
Top rail screws onto back rest from the rear.
Top rail is about 4" tall in rear and 2.5" in front, and has a rounded top
Style #4.1
Description: These pews are upholstered on the seat, inside back and outside back. They are manufactured by Majestic Interiors.
Key things to look for: Pew seat has spacers between it and the back.
Seat has a framework on the underside of seat made from 2"x2"s.
Absolutely no visible hardware.
All screws used in assembly are screwed into oak, not plywood!
